The Story of Liberty

Posted in uncategorized with tags , , on November 26, 2020 by andelino

I am a descendant of the Pilgrims and proud to celebrate Thanksgiving

Exactly 400 years ago, a group of settlers, including the Pilgrims, landed in Cape Cod. It’s the survival of those early colonists that we celebrate each Thanksgiving.

As usual, we can expect academics and commentators to howl about the Pilgrims and make false or misleading claims about these brave souls, labeling them as oppressors of Native Americans. If anything, the Pilgrims were just another group of people that would end up in conflict with the tribes.

But as a descendant of one of those Mayflower passengers, I am proud to celebrate Thanksgiving every year.

First, the Pilgrims were one of the first groups of settlers to successfully establish a working community in a new land. Though they at first struggled with a proto-version of socialism, the introduction of private property and the aid from the Native Americans helped them survive. Second, they wisely created a set of rules to live by that would respect one another’s individual freedoms.

As Peter Wood explains in the New York Post, in comparing the compact to the Declaration of Independence and Gettysburg Address:

“The Mayflower Compact is a much humbler document than those two, but it has the advantage of being the first: the first time a mutually suspicious collection of settlers decided, without compulsion, to respect one another’s rights. Plymouth enacted its own laws, elected its own leaders, and after a winter of severe hardship, thrived as a peaceful self-governing community.”

Finally, Thanksgiving has grown to become a holiday that combines some of the best elements of American culture.

Quick early morning game of Golf — check
TV Football games— check.
Carbs and fat-filled food &  drinks— check.
Heated discussions about religion and politics — check.

The enemies of Thanksgiving have a new ally in the public health community. They’re agitating to stop the celebration of Thanksgiving because of coronavirus. Do not let those people stop you from celebrating Thanksgiving either.

American history is not perfect, it’s often bloody, full of contradictions, and can leave teachers and historians torn into two false choice camps.

People can feel torn between presenting a sanitized and oversimplified version of history or portraying the early settlers as genocidal maniacs who did not have the same values system as we do in 2020.

The opponents of Thanksgiving cite colonialism as a way to knock Thanksgiving and paint it as a racist holiday. If only the people in 1620 had the same understanding of the problems of colonialism that we are now so enlightened to know. But they did not. The Pilgrims were seeking new opportunities and a chance to acquire property and achieve prosperity.

The Pilgrims should not be viewed poorly because they participated in the system of the days, which was moving to new lands to settle.

The Native Americans were not exactly peaceful people themselves — history is messy and bellicose and to pretend that white, Anglo-Saxon Protestants were the only ones complicit in that history is to bury one’s head in the sand.

But instead of focusing on any of this, we should celebrate America and enjoy Thanksgiving with family and friends.

Thanksgiving Definition

Posted in uncategorized with tags , on November 25, 2020 by andelino

Thanksgiving definition…

the act of giving thanks; grateful acknowledgment of benefits or favors, especially to God.
an expression of thanks, especially to God.
a public celebration in acknowledgment of divine favor or kindness.
a day set apart for giving thanks to God.

The definition of “Thanksgiving” alone; tells us all we need to understand about those who choose to deny or harm this special day. If one fails to recognize God, America, or the US Constitution; then shutting down anything associated is their default position – it’s not about a virus!

Anti-Americans consciously know they can’t prevail over God, so they work tirelessly in an attempt to diminish His role in the lives of citizens. Thanks to Donald J. Trump, “anarchists” are finally being exposed and hopefully prosecuted.

When people reject God, they create a vacuum in their sole that sucks “worldliness” into their persona. Worldly thoughts focus upon power and financial lusts. In turn, their soles are destroyed and normal human characteristics are suppressed.

To feed their inhumane lusts, hate eventually consumes their entire being. Their enemies instantly become those who dare to express Godly characteristics such as love, family values, worshiping, charity, happiness, loyalty, freedom, facts, truth, and common sense.

Since the beginning of time, wannabe tyrants learned to “divide and conquer” populations. History teaches us the beginning of Communism and Socialism starts with this action. Their goal is to find anything and any means of separating populations into enemies – through no fault of their own. Consider what is happening in the only country ever to fight for racial freedom.

Godless people spend their entire lives trying to attain all of the things Godly people inherently have but without understanding the importance of God, first. Instead, they choose to cause problems – not solve them.

They convince themselves there is none smarter and conceive wild ideologies demanding others to obey. They scheme night and day to convince others that being subservient to them is a superior lifestyle.

Fortunately, America is a unique Nation, blessed by God. We have His written word that teaches us all we need to know to prosper and enjoy happiness. That means we don’t need anyone to tell us what to do every day. In return, “Thanksgiving” is a special time of the year for all to offer thanks for our blessings!

If we learn anything from God’s Word, it is God is love. Over 30 times, God tells us in 1 John 4:8 “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” God also teaches us about people He despises… “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” Proverbs 6:16-19

The opposite of “God is Satan”. The opposite of “Love is Hate”. We must all understand Satan is the force behind hatred and all things evil.

When we see anyone performing an act of kindness, we quickly understand their action is predicated upon their love for God. “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:31

Likewise, when we see anyone involved in any act of evil to harm, shame, or bully another, we easily understand such actions are predicated upon their love of Satan. Matthew 23:25 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.” That’s why people cannot serve two masters.

Until President Trump entered politics, satanic forces managed to camouflage their beliefs and agendas. They whitewashed their ideologies under the guise of doing good deeds, while spreading poverty, crime, evil, suffering, depression, and hopelessness.

President Trump forced anti-Americans out of their camouflage if they wanted to promote and continue their corruption and deceptions. Once ousted, no American can any longer believe their false ideologies to destroy America. From this date forward, every politician must answer this simple question: “If you love America, will you fight to your death to defend every Constitutional right?”

When one’s moral compass leans toward murdering babies, destroying core family values, taxing Americans into poverty, destroying businesses, shipping our jobs overseas, reducing military strength, increasing drug and sex trafficking, supporting non-citizens, destroying our election process, and most any other anti-American value; such has to be removed from power – no matter the political party.

If we only understand these basic facts, then this “Thanksgiving” can be the best ever. Regardless of what happens, we win – if we keep the faith! “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

To summarize, we as Believers know that death or the Rapture is a certainty. With the left’s determination to establish their retaliatory “HARM LIST” for Trump supporters, it won’t be that long before the list will be turned into the “Death List.”

Yes, it appears certain we will be called to defend America one more time. President Trump and his family gave their all for America and we should be willing to do the same. Like President Trump, we must do all we can to do this peacefully and through a non-corruptible ballot box.

Anyone corrupting America’s voting system is in essence firing a warning shot across the bow of every American. They have misread Americans by awakening a sleeping giant. Stealing a phrase from the left, “we are now woke” and they need to understand this giant is not going to lie down to become a doormat.

If the left learns anything, this would be the perfect time of the year to give thanks for America instead of tearing Her down. They might also learn that pro-Americans can teach them how to enjoy America, God, and all of the blessings granted.

None of the left’s actions or ideologies will please God and they won’t succeed. “If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you.” Joshua 24:20

As Believers, we have not only had a President that finally stood for us as well as all people, but we must now turn to God to know that our days ahead will not be wasted. Instead, the days ahead will be filled with hope knowing God will deal with America and those who would attempt to destroy Her.

God’s Everlasting Love…“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? “ Romans 8:31

Turkey Pardon 2019

Posted in uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on November 28, 2019 by andelino

President Donald Trump joked that the turkeys he was about to “pardon” had already been called by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff to “testify” against him.

Saying that the Democrats had accused him of being “too soft on turkey,” the president introduced the two birds — named “Bread” and “Butter” — who had been chosen to participate in the annual presidential “turkey-pardoning” ceremony.

President Trump began with a few opening remarks about the tradition of pardoning the Thanksgiving turkey, an annual event that began with former President George H. W. Bush.

“In keeping with that tradition, today I will issue a pardon to a pair of very handsome birds, Butter and his alternate, Bread. Bread and Butter were raised in the Tarheel state by farmer Wiley Jackson who is here with us — who is here with us and his wife. Thank you very much,” he said.

“Thankfully, Bread and Butter have been specially raised by the Jackson’s to remain calm under any condition which will be very important because they have already received subpoenas to appear in Adam Schiff’s basement on Thursday. Hundreds of people have. It seems the Democrats are accusing me of being too soft on Turkey.” Trump joked.

Trump turned his attention to the birds, adding, “Bread and Butter, I should note that unlike previous witnesses, you and I have actually met. It’s very unusual. Very unusual. In any event, I expect this pardon will be a very popular one with the media. After all, turkeys are closely related to vultures. I don’t know if I like that line but there is some truth to it,” he smiled.

Vegan Cory Booker was asked about his favorite “comfort food.” Booker said “veggies.” Ask what the “Thanksgiving” holiday would look like under a Cory Booker administration, including whether or not President Booker would take executive action to stop the “wholesale slaughter” of America’s turkeys by pardoning every single one of the delicious birds under U.S. jurisdiction, Booker’s national press secretary Sabrina Singh said “Those are some tough questions, guess you’ll just have to wait and see.”

Pete Buttigieg, Bread and Butter.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), a pro-vegan organization that describes the ultimate goal of veganism as “to help animals and reduce suffering,” has a clear stance when it comes to the American people’s “ritual lust” for turkey meat.

That stance is outlined in the following television advertisement PETA submitted to run on NBC during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but was rejected by the same network overlords who rejected Ronan Farrow’s accurate reporting on the “sexual predations” of disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, who donated $7,800 to Booker’s Senate campaign in 2013, according to federal election records.

WARNING! If you are eating a Butterball Turkey for Thanksgiving, please understand that you are eating an “Islamic blessed, halal-certified bird.”

Democrats Top Ten List

Democrats Top 10 List 01A Democrats “Top Ten” Thanksgiving List!

A combination of what has been voted one of the most “disturbing” Thanksgiving graphics with a “Top Ten” list of reasons why the “liberals” at your table voted for Barack Obama…”twice!”

10. I voted for Obama because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

9. I voted for Obama because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

8. I voted for Obama because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

7. I voted for Obama because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

6. I voted for Obama because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.

5. I voted for Obama because I’m not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies through abortion so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

4. I voted for Obama because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

3. I voted for Obama because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as Obama sees fit.

2. I voted for Obama because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

1. I voted for Obama because my head is so firmly planted up my ass it’s unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view, and since I will never have it extracted I don’t need to keep the doctor I like.

Thanksgiving 2014

Obama Thanksgiving 00Thanksgiving with the Obama Family

On behalf of the Obama family, “Michelle, Malia, Sasha, Bo, and Sunny,” I want to wish you a very “happy” Thanksgiving.

Like many of you, “legally or illegally” in this country, we’ll spend the day with family and friends, “catching” up, “eating” some food and “watching” a little soccer.

Obama Thanksgiving 07

Before we “lift” a fork, we “lend” a hand by going out in the “community” to serve some of our “illegal” and “undocumented” neighbors in need.

And we give “praise” to each other, and for all of “Allah’s” blessings.

Obama Thanksgiving 01Thanksgiving is my “favorite” holiday because, more than any other, it is “uniquely” American.

Each of us brings our own “traditions, cultures and recipes” to the table, and we all share this day, united by “amnesty” and the “gratitude” for being able to “redistribute” the bounty of this nation to “everyone.”

Obama Thanksgiving 03And we welcome the “contributions” of all people, no matter their “origin, color or beliefs,” who call America home, and who “enrich” the life of our nation.

“I am here to proclaim what I’m sure will be the most talked-about executive action this month,” Obama announced.

“Today, I’m taking an action fully within my legal authority, the same kind of action taken by Democrats and Republican presidents before me, to pardon and spare the lives of illegal and undocumented immigrants from being deported.”

Obama Thanksgiving 04It is a “creed” as old as our founding: “E pluribus unum” that our of many, we are one.

We are “reminded” that this creed, and America itself, was never an “inevitability,” but the result of “ordinary” people in every “generation” doing their part to “uphold” our founding “ideals and laws,” by taking the blessings of “freedom” and multiplying them for those who would “illegally” follow.

Obama Thanksgiving 06As President Kennedy once wrote, even as we give thanks for all that we’re inherited from those who came before us, “the decency of purpose, steadfastness of resolve and strength of will, for the courage and the humility, which they possessed,” we must also remember that “the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.”

Today, we are grateful to all “legally or illegally” Americans who do their part to live by those “ideals and laws,” including our “brave” men and women in “uniform” overseas and their families, who “sacrifice” so much to keep America “safe” from terrorists, beheadings and Ebola.

Obama Thanksgiving 09To our service members who are “away” from home, we say an extra “Allah Akbar” for you and your loved ones, and we “renew” our commitment to take “care” of you as well as you’ve taken care of us.

We are grateful to the “countless” Americans who “serve” their communities in “soup kitchens and shelters,” looking out for those who are “less fortunate,” and lifting up those who have “fallen on hard times.”

Obama Thanksgiving 08This “generosity, compassion and belief” that we are each others “brother” keepers, is essential to “who we are,” not just on this day, but “every” day.

It’s easy to focus on what “separates” us.

Obama Thanksgiving 05But as we gather with “loved” ones on this Thanksgiving, let’s remember and be grateful for the “Hope & Change” which “binds” us together.

Our “love” of country. Our commitment to “justice and equality.” Our belief that America’s “best days are ahead,” and that her “destiny” is ours to shape, and that our inherited “ideals and laws” must be the “birthright” of all of our children, “legal or illegal.”

Obama Thanksgiving 02That’s what “today” is all about. That out of “many, we are one.”

Thank you, “Allah Akbar,” from my family to yours.

Blessing of the Taxes

Posted in uncategorized with tags , , , on November 28, 2013 by andelino

Blessing of the Taxes 01During Thanksgiving, Americans traditionally give thanks to the government for what it has distributed to them.

All conscientious community members are required to experience (a) deep gratitude to the Government and its leaders; (b) unworthiness in the face of the glorious state; (c) guilt for consuming according to their needs and not giving back enough according to their abilities.

The non-compliant will have their belongings redistributed to the more worthy members of the community.

This year’s progressive “Thanksgiving” prayer has been updated for the 2013-2014 tax year and was written by Economist Professor Kurgman, PhD.

As much as I abhor Christianity, I occasionally attend progressive churches in my community – as long as the pastor expounds on socialism and its variants like environmental causes, and the rights of the oppressed masses of gays, women, Black Americans, Palestinians, Cubans, and Hezbollah.

My local pastor rarely talks about anything else. He even asked me to compose a prayer for this week’s Thanksgiving sermon. Now, everybody knows that Thanksgiving observance does nothing more than perpetuate the Holocaust of the Native American. What positive meaning could be found in such a grotesquely shameful holiday? After lengthy meditation my admirable laser-sharp mind of an economist with three PhDs immediately was blessed with the brilliant, socially significant prayer answer below.

Blessing of the Taxes 02

Blessing of the Government Taxes

Let me, Dear God, shift the paradigm on this Thanksgiving and blissfully give thanks for the gift of government, and thank the government for the gift of taxes. Bless my taxes, O God! Give me peace of mind as I rejoice in filling out forms and returning money to its rightful owner, the government. Keep me joyous, I pray, as I write out those checks. Yea, Lord, we know that there is little reason to be joyous with the failure of the healthcare collectivization rollout, but the thought of a new tax year still brings to us a swelling tear of joy. And whisper to me, Lord, all the good reasons that I send my money to my government every year.

Raise my awareness to the fact that I could not write this prayer, and would be a barely-functioning illiterate living in the gutter, if I had not received a free tax-subsidized education; my parents could not have afforded both my tuition and their own tax payments, so my tuition was supplied, at no expense to anyone, by the government. Remind me of how my mind has been so wondrously calibrated by our free public schools!

Gently show me that the Internet, through which I send this prayer to others, was created by committees of civil servants. Help me to recall that my freedom to pray as I wish was purchased with tax dollars that paid for dairy price supports. Quietly kiss me as you raise my awareness that the only deserving people, the most noble among us, are those who subsist on government programs — paid for with our taxes. My Lord my God, fondle me as you energize me with the hopefulness of higher taxes that can pay for an even more effective Internal Revenue service, which in turn can collect even more taxes for an even more effective Internal Revenue Service, which will culminate in an ecstatic spiral of an all-encompassing tax-collecting mechanism that will be accountable to no one except to the spirit of economic justice.

Reveal to me, Lord, in my mind’s eye, the public health workers, the regulators of the environment and of commerce, the employees of the Department of Energy, and the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Education, and the Administration for Children and Families, and the Minerals Management Service, and the Rural Business-Cooperative Service, and the Minority Business Development Agency , and the Japan-United States Friendship Commission , and the Government National Mortgage Association, and the Housing and Urban Development Department, and the Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements, and the Institute of Peace, and the Bureau of International Labor Affairs, and the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Small Business Administration, and the Superfund Basic Research Program , and the President’s Commission on Moon, Mars and Beyond, and the Office of Refugee Resettlement, and the Office of Thrift Supervision, and the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission , and the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee , and the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, and the Stennis Center for Public Service, and the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation , and the Peace Corps, and the Office of Public and Indian Housing, and the President’s Council on Integrity and Efficiency, and the National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicare, and the National Interagency Fire Center, and the Northwest Power Planning Council, and the Multifamily Housing Office , and the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer, and especially the Internal Revenue Service, and all the other things that my taxes and your taxes make possible.

And please, Lord, remind my brothers and sisters that they should liquidate their savings accounts and mutual funds, bonds and CD’s, so that they too can be forced to turn it over to the greatest bargain of all that is Social Security. Educate me, Dear One, of how difficult life was for the sick and elderly before they paid throughout their entire careers, with threat of imprisonment, 14% of their wages for the iron-clad guarantees of Social Security. Please, Lord, make everyone realize that there is no investment more secure, and none that gives such a generous return, as Social Security.

Take me out of my selfishness and give me a spirit of gratitude as I write those tax checks! Remind me of my own virtue as I inform the IRS of cheaters. Inspire me to see that my sacred duty is to serve those who are unable to provide “value” to others, or are unwilling to provide anything for themselves. And that my highest calling is to ensure that others return whatever they have to the Government that You have created.

O Dear One, there are so many ways I wish my taxes could be spent! I’m willing, O Lord, to pay even more in taxes if it would work for the common good: We need a strong government to take back from the rich few and generously give to the many! Lord my God, please put the brakes on commerce, remove all profits from the pigs who “produced” it, and turn it all over to those who deserve it. So, more than ever, dear God, give me the strength and the vision to rise up and press my government to unapologetically take back what is ours. My sacred duty as a spokesperson for the working class can only be fulfilled if we organize, advocate, protest, resist, agitate, and speak truth to power by writing tax checks. I ask for your guidance, God, as I join with others to change the priorities and values of our government, so that they reflect more of our collective will, and my struggle, as expressed through your will.

Lord, you have created all men and women as equals. Any disparity from your plan is an affront to decency. And so I pray, my Dear Lord, that you fulfill your vision for true equality, and remove all excess. In service to you, my Lord, we will not rest until everyone is truly equal. Tax the rich. Sicken the healthy. Scar the beautiful. Destroy the “successful”. Drown the bankers. Blind the stock traders. Cripple the athletes and sever the hands of the musicians. Plant carnivorous bacteria in the brains of those who score high on racist “IQ” tests. Deliver wasting diseases to the strong. Starve and stone the executives and managers. Show no mercy to the blood-sucking merchants as they suffer merciless deaths in the searing flames of gargantuan infernos. Smash capitalism and deliver us, Dear One, to our deserved socialist paradise.

May your blessing rest on my Form 1040, dear Lord, and may my taxes well serve you and my fellow citizens! Amen.

Happy Thanksgivukkah 02“Thanksgiving” and “Hanukkah” will fall on the “same day” this year which won’t happen “again” for another 79,000 years.

It’s a turkey. It’s a menorah. It’s Thanksgivukkah!

For many Jewish Americans, this is no “trivial” convergence, but a “once-in-an-eternity” opportunity to simultaneously “celebrate” two favorite holidays, one quintessentially “American,” the other quintessentially “Jewish.”

This extremely “rare” convergence of Thanksgiving and the start of Hanukkah has created a frenzy of “Talmudic” proportions.

The next time Jews may “light their candles” will be from the outer “galactic” sphere in the year of 79,811.

Happy Thanksgivukkah 03

How did this happened?

Thanksgiving is set as the fourth Thursday in November, meaning the latest it can be is November 28th.

November 28th is also the earliest Hanukkah can be.

The Jewish calendar repeats on a 19 year cycle, and Thanksgiving repeats on a 7 year cycle.

You would therefore expect them to coincide roughly every 19×7 = 133 years.

Looking back, the last time it would have happened is 1861.

However, Thanksgiving was only formally established by President Lincoln in 1863.

So, it has never happened before. Why won’t it ever happen again?

The reason is because the Jewish calendar is very slowly getting out of sync with the solar calendar, at a rate of 4 days per 1000 years

Not bad for a many centuries old calendar!

This means that while presently Hanukkah can be as early as November 28th, over the years the calendar will drift forward, such that the earliest Hanukkah can be is November 29th.

The last time Hanukkah falls on November 28th is in the year of 2146, which happens to be a Monday.

Therefore, 2013 is the only time Hanukkah will ever overlap with Thanksgiving.

Of course, if the “Jewish calendar” is never modified in any way, then it will slowly move forward through the “Gregorian calendar”, until it loops all the way back to where it is now.

So, Hanukkah would again fall on Thursday, November 28th in the year of 79,811.

And then there is the commerce.

Happy Thanksgivukkah 06

Manhattan fourth-grader Asher Weintraub alongside his Menurkey prototype.

9-year-old Asher Weintraub of Brooklyn, N.Y. invented the “Menurkey”  a turkey-shaped “Menorah” or “Hanukkah Candelabra.”

He raised over $48,000 by selling more than 1500 of his trademarked, turkey-shaped “Menorah’s.”

Then there are the Woodstock-inspired T-shirts which have a turkey perched on the neck of a guitar imploring “8 Days of Light, Liberty & Latkes.”

Happy Thanksgivukkah 05

Jewish cooks have created recipes for everything from pumpkin latkes, Hanukkah’s signature potato pancake, to turkey brined in Manischewitz, the syrupy kosher wine Jewish Americans love to make fun of but drink anyway.

Happy Thanksgivukkah 04

Songs have also popped up with lyrics like “The Ballad of Thanksgivukkah” which manages to rhyme “latkes” with “religious minorities.”

When Rabbi David Paskin, a congregational rabbi outside of Boston and the co-head of Kehillat Schechter Academy, heard that Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah would fall on the same day this year, he knew it was a chance for families to have fun.

But he also saw it as an educational moment to shine a light on the value of religious freedom that is at the core of both holidays.

So, the singing Rabbi composed a lighthearted rhyming song to help celebrate the special occasion as he and a few other troubadours kids race through the stairwells of his school singing about latkes, cranberries, Pilgrims, Native Americans, dreidels and the Hasmonean dynasty.

“It’s only in America, where we have this religious freedom, we can shout out loud about this moment in time,” Paskin said.

Let’s not forget the food mash-ups commemorating the staying power of the Pilgrims and the fighting prowess of the Jews, along with the miracle of one night’s oil lasting eight days.

Pumpkin latkes, apple-cranberry sauce and deep-fried turkey, anyone?

“It’s pretty amazing to me that in this country we can have rich secular and rich religious celebrations and that those of us who live in both worlds can find moments when they meet and can really celebrate that convergence.”

“There are a lot of places in the world where we would not be able to do that,” Paskin said.

“It’s an opportunity for us to really celebrate the Jewish American experience, and to give thanks in America for the religious freedom we enjoy here, and for making the Jewish American experience possible.”
