What happened to Germany’s Nazi scientists? The answer may explain America’s vulnerabilities.
A scientist from Germany’s Nazi era, Dr. Wernher von Braun, designed the rocket that took the first Americans to the moon. Before that, he designed rockets for Adolf Hitler’s Wehrmacht. He was just one of 1,600 Nazi doctors, physicists and chemists brought to the United States in Operation Paperclip, which began in 1944. After World War II, these scientists were used to win the technological race for supremacy over the Soviet Union. They helped America advance in space, bio-warfare and other fields of military technology.
