The quest of the world’s richest man is to discover “why we’re here.”

Business magnate Elon Musk said in an interview with ted curator Chris Anderson on April 14 that his “driving philosophy” in life is to understand the meaning of human life. His “motivating philosophy” in life “is to understand what questions to ask about the answer that is the universe.” He would like “to understand why we’re here, how we got here, what … is going on.”

“And so that is my driving philosophy, is to expand the scope and scale of consciousness that we may better understand the nature of the universe,” he said.
