Abortions in Texas have practically stopped. Since the beginning of this month, Planned Parenthood is not doing abortions under the new Texas Heartbeat Act. It is a rare victory for pro-life supporters in a pro-abortion culture. But it’s merely a temporary win in one battle within a fierce and deadly war.

This law—passed by the Texas legislature on March 11, signed by Gov. Greg Abbott on May 19, and in effect as of September 1—outlaws abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy, when the unborn child’s heartbeat is first strong enough to be detected.
