Mass Shootings Epidemic

Posted in uncategorized with tags , on August 9, 2019 by andelino

Today’s Americans are quick to point fingers after mass shootings, blaming everything from guns and video-games to extremist political beliefs, but none of these are the true root cause of America’s “mass shooting” epidemic.

On “Nuke the Narrative”, Host Anders Hagstrom explains the relationship between America’s Opioid crisis, our skyrocketing Millennial suicide rates, and mass shootings. The root cause is a widespread despair among young people — especially men — who grow up in broken homes and are drowning in debt with low-paying jobs.

Isolated by their circumstances, some turn to drugs, others to suicide, and still others to fringe, online communities in search of the sense of belonging they don’t get from real life.

The true problem is not the radical right- or left-wing politics of these shooters, it’s the societal despair that drives them there.

National talk show host Chris Plante, frequently opines, “The most insidious power that the news media has is the power to ignore.”

Those words have never been truer in recent days as the media has covered the latest mass murders. The media has ignored the fact that killers targeted unarmed citizens in Gilroy, California, El Paso, Texas, Dayton, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois.

So what we see are politicians making false claims out of ignorance. For example:

Cory Booker claimed that mass shootings are a “uniquely American problem.” But this is false. The United States is not even in the top 50 countries when one compares mass shootings per capita among nations.

Countless Democratic presidential hopefuls are “bashing firearms like AR-15s,” claiming that Americans have no use for owning such weapons. Again, this is grossly false. Several men and women have used these guns in self-defense, including a Houston man who used his AK-47 to fend off five home invaders this year.

Even the president weighed in on Monday, arguing that Congress should encourage states to pass “red flag” Gun Confiscation Orders. But these gun grabs allow for the confiscation of firearms from innocent Americans — which often turn out badly, as seen by the police killing of an African-American Maryland man last year.

What was missing from the lips of these politicians — and from media coverage in general — is the role that “unarmed citizens in gun-free zones” play in mass shootings.

Within a week’s time, there have been three well-publicized shootings, all of them demonstrating the intention of killers to seek out disarmed victims.

The Garlic Festival in Gilroy was a gun-free zone. This is not unique since over 90 percent of public mass shootings occur in defense-free areas. Criminals may be evil, but they’re not stupid. They want to be the only ones with a gun.

California and Illinois have some of the most draconian gun laws in the nation, yet they have experienced the greatest number of mass shootings. This is not surprising.

In El Paso, The “racist” gunman stated in his manifesto that he would be going for a soft target. So he left his home in the Dallas suburbs and drove over 600 miles to find his soft target in El Paso.

Mexican nationals cross the border in droves every weekend to go shopping in El Paso. For this hate-filled monster, these shoppers would be the perfect targets since they would not be able to carry guns from Mexico into the United States. Hence, the majority of his victims would be disarmed.

In Dayton, Ohio, The Elizabeth Warren-supporting shooter who went on a killing spree chose a location and time (1:00 a.m. on a Sunday) when his targets would be especially disarmed — as Ohio law prohibits citizens from carrying concealed while drinking. So again, the killer chose victims who were almost guaranteed to be disarmed.

In Chicago seven people were shot to death during a recent weekend, and 44 were wounded. In one police district, seven were injured in a drive-by shooting, and another seven were injured in another drive-by shooting. Chicago’s Mount Sinai Hospital went on bypass Sunday morning, meaning it temporarily stopped accepting new patients. It was filled to capacity after the shootings, a hospital spokesperson said. In one of Chicago’s 25 police districts, the department had to deploy an extra 50 officers to try to slow down the carnage.

What’s also missing from the “national dialogue” is how guns are “saving” more lives than they take. In fact, they are used 16-100 times more often to save life every day.

But one will rarely find one of these stories in the national media. Some of them have been mentioned in the Daily Caller. And the FBI has documented several cases as well.

But the national media only seems to want to harp on the “negative” uses of firearms.

Imagine if the national media were to focus 24/7 on the medical “crisis,” doing in depth stories on the 685 patients who are “negligently killed” by doctors each day.

Two hundred and fifty thousand “medical mistakes” result in death every year — or 685 per day. The daily medical “carnage” is the equivalent of several months worth of “mass shootings!”

If the media covered negligent “medical” mistakes in the same way they cover “guns,” Americans would be “scared” to visit a doctor. Of course, we know that such “fear” is foolish because doctors are “saving” far more lives.

Obviously, there is “risks” in everything we do. We live in a “dangerous” world, where 16 pedestrians are “killed by vehicles” every day. One study showed that Americans are 159 times more likely to be “struck and killed by a car than to be shot in a mass shooting.”

But which story are we most likely to see on the news? Given that almost 80 percent of journalists favor stricter gun control, the question should answer itself.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson began his Wednesday night “Tucker Carlson Tonight” show with a monologue excoriating the “reckless and unhinged” political attacks from elites on the left who keep people stirred up about “race” in order to cover for the “real divide in this country” — class.

Noting that “rich people,” particularly in the media and politics, are the “most hysterical” on the subject of white supremacy being “America’s biggest problem,” Carlson speculated that the reason could be because it keeps people “angry about race” and not “thinking about class, which of course is the real divide in this country.”

“Working class people of all colors have a lot more in common, infinitely more in common with each other than they do with some overpaid MSNBC anchor,” said Carlson. “If you were allowed to think about that for long enough, you might start to get unauthorized ideas about economics.”

Which, to Carlson, would “be disruptive to a very lucrative status quo.”

“So they whip you into a frenzy of racial fear so that it never enters your mind,” he said. “It’s a diversion. Everyone else hates each other. They get to keep their money. Pretty tricky. Unfortunately, it’s also destroying the country. For real. This is the path to civil war, obviously.”

The Fox News host implored everyone to “calm down,” saying that while racism is a “problem, so is a fading middle class, a terrifying drug epidemic, and so is a national debt that is growing by a trillion dollars a year.”

Tucker ended the monologue by praising an America that, far from being “a white supremacist country” or “on the brink of genocide,” is “full of decent people of all races” who deserve “the benefit of the doubt, even when you disagree with them.”

Below is the full, unedited transcript of Tucker’s Wednesday opener:

Good evening and welcome to Tucker Carlson Tonight. What’s the point at which rhetoric forces action? When do words become incitement? At what point do political attacks become so reckless and unhinged that you can no longer heal the divide they create with politics, and force people towards something darker? Well it’s hard to know exactly when that point is, but the left is getting very close to it. We could give you many examples of this, but we’ll begin with this exchange from last night on MSNBC. This is frequent guest Malcolm Nance accusing the president of the United States of sending secret messages to neo-Nazis:

(SOT: NANCE: These people feel that they are the foot soldiers and executors of what the disenfranchisement that the white race is feeling and Donald Trump is giving them subliminal orders in their head.)

Subliminal orders. Whatever his faults, you can be certain Donald Trump is not doing that. Trump is the least subliminal politician in American history. He has no subtext. That’s part of the problem, of course. If he’s thinking it, he’s saying it. The claim is ludicrous. But at MSNBC, it wasn’t even the weirdest thing uttered on their air yesterday. That distinction goes to Frank Figluizzi, a former FBI official turned talking head-conspiracy nut. He used numerology to explain the president’s coded messages. Watch this, and keep in mind it is entirely real. We have not edited a word:

(SOT: Figluizzi: It’s the little things and the language and messaging that matters. The president said that we will fly our flags at half-mast until Aug. 8. That’s 8/8. Now, I’m not going to imply that he did this deliberately, but I am using it as an example of the ignorance of the adversary that’s being demonstrated by the White House. The numbers 88 are very significant in neo-Nazi and white supremacy movement. Why? Because the letter ‘H’ is the eighth letter of the alphabet, and to them the numbers 88 together stand for ‘Heil Hitler.)

Got that? Eight is a racist number. That what they’re telling you on MSNBC. In other words, things are getting dangerously crazy on the left. How crazy? Well on Monday, former Jeb Bush spokeswoman Nicolle Wallace explained that President Trump is planning a genocide of Hispanic Americans. Watch this:

(SOT: USA Today columnist Paul Reyes: He ramped it up again when he said “invasion” and warning people about the caravan. Words like “infestation”. What do you do with an infestation? The natural conclusion is to attempt an extermination.

WALLACE: President Obama, he used the power of the presidency to try to pass comprehensive immigration reform with the Latino community, Latino leaders at the table. You now have a president, as you say, talking about exterminating Latinos.”)

Exterminating Latinos. Keep in mind, Donald Trump got a higher percentage of the Hispanic vote than Mitt Romney did. It turns out that not all Latinos believe in open borders. A lot of them don’t. Some of them agree with Donald Trump on immigration. And yet the left is now telling you — and demanding that you believe — that anyone who supports Donald Trump is a white supremacist, and must be destroyed. They’re telling you that for political reasons. This is election season obviously and they want more political power. But there are other reasons too that they’re saying this.

Ever wonder why rich people seem the most hysterical on the subject? Ever notice that it’s the highest paid people on television who are the most determined to convince you that white supremacy is America’s biggest problem? Why is that? Simple: every minute you’re angry about race is a minute you’re not thinking about class, which of course is the real divide in this country. Working class people of all colors have a lot more in common, infinitely more in common with each other than they do with some overpaid MSNBC anchor.

And if you were allowed to think about that for long enough, you might start to get unauthorized ideas about economics.

That would be disruptive to a very lucrative status quo. So they whip you into a frenzy of racial fear so that it never enters your mind. It’s a diversion. Everyone else hates each other. They get to keep their money. Pretty tricky. Unfortunately, it’s also destroying the country. This is the path to civil war, obviously.

So we want to take a second to pass on a sincere message to official Washington, and particularly to our colleagues on the other cable news channels, and it’s this: Please, for the sake of the nation, calm down. Yes, America has problems. Racism is one of those problems. But so is a fading middle class, a terrifying drug epidemic that’s killed hundreds of thousands of Americans. So is a national debt that is growing by a trillion dollars a year. People realize their country is declining, and it’s making them turn to new political leaders.

Donald Trump was one of them. Elizabeth Warren and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are others. This is a time of frustration and change. But America is not on the brink of genocide. It’s not even close to that. This is not a white supremacist country, plotting the slaughter its own people. It’s a kind country, full of decent people of all races who, like all people everywhere, make bad decisions from time to time, but they mean well and they generally try their best. Going forward, give them the benefit of the doubt, even when you disagree.

Maybe especially when you disagree with them. These are your fellow Americans. Cut them a break. They deserve it. And remember: The alternative is disaster.

Following the most recent deadly mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, this past weekend, many Democrats — several of whom are running for president — have not hesitated to “blame” President Donald Trump for said events.

Several Democrats have also made “claims” that suggest Trump is responsible for “white supremacy” in the U.S.

In this Daily Caller video segment, Fox News host and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson shuts down the aforementioned arguments made by Democratic presidential candidates that lay the blame on Trump for the recent tragedies in Texas on August 3, 2019 and in Ohio on August 4, 2019.

Tucker: Democrats Think They Can Win If They Just Call Enough People ‘Racist’

If It Doesn’t Fit We Must Omit
