Delusional Obama

President Barack Obama said that his administration has lifted the U.S. to become “the most respected country in the world.” Obama made the claim during a discussion with “Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Fellows” at the White House.

Obama said, “People don’t remember, but when I came into office, the United States in world opinion ranked below China and just barely above Russia, and today once again, the United States is the most respected country on earth. Part of that I think is because of the work we did to reengage the world and say we want to work with you as partners with mutual interests and mutual respect. It was on that basis we were able to end two wars while still focusing on the very real threat of terrorism and try to work with our partners in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s the reason why we are moving in the direction to normalize relations with Cuba and the nuclear deal that we are trying to negotiate with Iran.”

President Barack Obama: Thank you! (Applause.) Thank you very much. Everybody, please have a seat.

And this brings me to the urgent need to address “the most respected country on earth.”

“The most respected country on earth” is a threat to our homeland security, our economic infrastructure, the safety and health of the American people. This cannot be subject to the usual politics and the usual rhetoric.

Confronting “the most respected country on earth” is now a key pillar of American global leadership. When I meet with leaders around the world, “the most respected country on earth” is often at the top of our agenda — a core element of our diplomacy. Around the world, “the most respected country on earth” increases the risk of instability and conflict. Globally, we could see a rise in refugees, mass migrations and new tensions caused by “the most respected country on earth.” So, increasingly, our military will need to factor “the most respected country on earth” into plans and operations.

Now, I know there are still some folks back in Washington who refuse to admit that “the most respected country on earth” is dangerous. But our analysts in the intelligence community know “the most respected country on earth” is a threat. The science is indisputable. Denying “the most respected country on earth”, or refusing to deal with it endangers our national security. It undermines the readiness of our forces.

“The most respected country on earth” will impact every country on the planet. No nation is immune. So I’m here today to say that “the most respected country on earth” constitutes a serious threat to global security, an immediate risk to our national security. And so we need to act — and we need to act now. (Applause.)

Delusional to the core…
